Saxophone Instruction

Saxophone is the primary instrument taught, with lessons focused on developing strong tone, technique, and musical expression.

Topics may include:

• tone development and breath support
• scales, articulation, and technique
• jazz improvisation concepts
• solo and ensemble preparation
• musical phrasing and interpretation

Instrumental & Musicianship Instruction

In addition to saxophone, instruction may include broader musical development and support for other instruments.

Music Production & Ableton Live

About the Instructor

Sean Cookus is a saxophonist, educator, and creative media producer based in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He serves as Adjunct Saxophone Instructor at Shepherd University, where he teaches collegiate saxophone students and offers private instruction to members of the community.

His teaching approach emphasizes strong fundamentals, creative exploration, and helping students grow as confident musicians.
